Mining equipment is subjected to high-intensity impacts and wear during mining, crushing, and conveying operations, and its working environment is severe, which puts extremely high requirements on the wear resistance of the equipment. Improving the wear resistance of mining equipment can not only extend the service life of the equipment, reduce maintenance frequency, but also significantly improve production efficiency and reduce operating costs. Therefore, how to effectively enhance the wear resistance of mining equipment has become an important issue in the field of mining machinery design and manufacturing.



Firstly, material selection is the foundation for enhancing wear resistance. Traditional mining equipment often uses carbon steel or ordinary cast iron, but these materials are prone to fatigue spalling and rapid wear in high-wear environments. Currently, an increasing number of mining equipment are beginning to use wear-resistant materials such as high manganese steel, high-chromium cast iron, alloy steel, composite materials, and ceramic coatings. These new materials have higher hardness, toughness, and fatigue resistance, and can better resist wear while withstanding heavy loads and impacts.



Secondly, the application of surface treatment technology plays a key role in enhancing wear resistance. Common surface hardening techniques include thermal spraying, surfacing, carburizing, nitriding, and laser cladding. For example, by using high-velocity oxygen fuel (HVOF) thermal spraying to apply a tungsten carbide coating on the surface of the equipment, the wear resistance of the components can be significantly improved; while laser cladding can deposit a layer of high-hardness metal material on critical areas, forming metallurgical bonding to enhance the wear and corrosion resistance of the surface.



Thirdly, structural design optimization is also an effective means to enhance wear resistance. Reasonably designing the geometric structure of equipment, such as adding wear-resistant linings, optimizing the stress distribution in the wear area, and setting replaceable vulnerable part modules, can effectively extend the overall service life of the equipment. In addition, modular design can also achieve rapid replacement and maintenance of components, further reducing downtime and maintenance costs.

  Finally, rational use and maintenance cannot be ignored. Regular lubrication, cleaning, and wear detection of equipment, as well as timely replacement of severely worn parts, help to delay equipment aging and maintain its good working condition.
